Employing over 600 people and operating 200 trucks, Watson Fuels distributes heating oil, diesel and fuel cards.
Watson Fuels were looking for a new development partner to work with them to support and maintain multiple Umbraco projects including: adding functionality and a new payment gateway to an important legacy website, design and build of a new responsive website to promote their Fuel Card offering, upgrade their websites to latest version of Umbraco and the development a new website for Watson Fuels.
Respecting the existing brand guidelines we designed and developed a responsive website by evolving the design of Watson Fuel Cards existing offering. We used Umbraco to capture multiple attributes for each fuel card, which we used to power a dynamic card comparison tool. Additionally, we developed a geo-search interface to display which cards are accepted in the user’s vicinity.
A blueprint installation was developed for the Fuel Cards website, which included a responsive framework and a number of reusable, custom-made content types, templates and plugins. A number of Watson websites will be migrated to use the base installation and the blueprint will act as a test case, keeping all websites up-to-date.
